2008 Season Highlight "Pattern Contest"
September 27-28, 2008 Fort Scott, Kansas

CLASSES: Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters, & FAI-F3A. Awards given for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in all classes.

ENTRY FEE; $25.00. Registration opens 8:00 a.m., Sat., 27 Sep.

CONCESSIONS: Available at the field Sat. & Sun.

PRACTICE: Field open noon Friday, 26 Sep.

DIRECTIONS: From US 69 Hwy 2 mi. south of Ft. Scott, west on Indian Road 3 1/2 mi. to Ft. Scott Airport. Continue west to southwest corner of airport to RC field on your right.
 
 
 
Meetings
Club meetings are held at 9:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month from November thru April, except December. During the months of May thru October meetings will be at 1:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of the month. Meetings are held at the flying site when weather permits, otherwise they are held in the Fort Scott Airport Terminal building. Occasionally, some meetings are at member’s homes or at other locations for some special event. Advance notice of meeting change is made through a newsletter, by e-mail, or by phone. 
 
 
Membership
Any radio control model enthusiast is eligible for
membership in the Bourbon County RC Flyer club.

Categories of membership are:

* Open Members - 19 through 64 years of age
* Senior Members – 65 years and older
* Junior Members – 18 years and younger

Each member must be a member of the AMA.
Application for membership can be made through any club member.  
 
 
About The Bourbon County RC Flyers
The Bourbon County RC Flyers is a chartered club of
the Academy of Model Aeronautics

The objectives of this club are:

·To promote radio control model construction and
operation in Bourbon County.

·To aid, insofar as possible, the national program
of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), looking
toward the continual advancement of model aviation in
all its phases in the United States.

·To provide an association for individuals interested
in radio control model airplane building and flying.

·To promote safety in, and enjoyment of, radio control
model airplane building and flying.

·To establish, equip, and maintain a flying field and
facilities for flying radio control model airplanes.

·To do anything in keeping with the foregoing objectives
permitted by law, alone, or in cooperation with others

Club News
The BCRC Flyers completed their fifth pattern contest on the weekend of 29 - 30 September 2007. Fifteen flyers participated in the two day event from Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Participants and placement were: SPORTSMAN - No flyers in this class. INTERMEDIATE - John Konneker (1st), George Ashley (2nd), Russ Rhodes (3rd); ADVANCED - Ken Kaut (1st), Robert Green (2nd); Ron Williams (3rd); and, MASTERS - Dan Curtis (1st), Joe Dunnaway (2nd), Chris White (3rd).
